Fixture & Tournament Info

CVYHC aims to offer all players the opportunity of taking part in some tournaments/matches with other hockey clubs. For some fixtures, all players in the relevant age group are invited but for others there is some selection of players so that all players come away from competition feeling positive about their performance.
For all future tournaments/matches, we will be sending out a group email – please reply promptly to let us know if you child can/cannot play. Thank you.
Some of our fixtures are organised centrally by Somerset Hockey and usually involve a large number of clubs throughout the county. For these tournaments, there is a deadline for team entries of two weeks before each fixture – because of this it is important that parents reply promptly concerning availability of players. If we do not have enough replies, we can only enter one team, unfortunately disappointing players who have replied too late. The standard of play at the Somerset tournaments is very high.
We also organise and play tournaments and matches with a smaller group of clubs and these often involve several age groups playing on the same day. Again, with these fixtures we also require a prompt reply by the given date so that we know how many teams we are entering and we can inform the host club responsible for scheduling the event. If we are the host club, we have to send out a tournament match schedule to travelling teams before the event.

Please note that we will not be training during the Friday of half term (1st November) or Wells Carnival night (15th November).
