Code of Conduct
Cheddar Valley Youth Hockey Club is fully committed to safe-guarding and promoting the well-being of all its members. The Club believes that it is important that members, coaches, administrators, managers, and parents/carers associated with the Club should at all time show respect and understanding for the safety and welfare of others. The Club has high expectations of members both on the pitch and at the pitch-side. To be a player within CVYHC you must abide by the club’s code of conduct.
Code of Conduct for Players
- I will play for enjoyment and always do my best
- I will play within the rules and respect officials and their decisions.
- I will not use inappropriate language.
- I will respect other players, coaches, managers, umpires and supporting adults.
- I will be punctual for training/matches/tournaments.
- I will wear suitable clothing and footwear at training sessions and if possible CVYHC polo-shirts at matches.
- I will not chew gum at training or matches.
- I will not go on the pitch or practise before I am invited onto the pitch by the coach/manager.
Code of Conduct for Parents/Carers
- I will support my child’s involvement and reinforce that the enjoyment of hockey and good sportsmanship is more important than winning.
- I will publicly accept and support the umpires’ judgements.
- I will recognise good play by all teams
- I will encourage my child to learn the rules and play within them.
- I will support the decisions made by the coaching staff and team managers
- I will not use inappropriate language.
- I will not force my child to take part in sport.
- I will not punish or belittle a child for losing or making mistakes.
