First Fixture of 2016/17

Cheddar Valley's first fixture of the 2016-17 season took place on the Sunday after our first training session and involved matches against teams from Bruton and Salisbury at Bruton School for Girls. They played 4 twenty minute matches and our young team (mainly Under 12 players) competed really well and showed some good skills.
In one match, particularly pleasing, was the response of the team after a half-time discussion on the importance of tracking back and closely marking opponents - against a very experienced and older Salisbury side, the result of the second half was 1-1. At training, during match play, we encourage players to work out ways of dealing with attacking play from opponents and it was good to see this in action in this match.
The team had a really enjoyable morning of hockey - a big thank you to Becky from Bruton.
Well done and thank you Manager Dan.
Good work team - Lauren, Millie, Ellen, Ellie, Ciara, Polly, Issie and goalkeeper Jim
